Instructor: Rosa Rodriguez (click here to read full bio)
Many professions and modalities, including Ortho-Bionomy, use isometric and isotonic techniques with their clients. Ortho-Bionomy® is a unique form of bodywork with a reputation for being a gentle way to relieve pain. It is a hands-on / clothes-on / non-forceful positional release modality that helps the body create balance from within.
The Ortho-Bionomy® catalog of techniques includes working with the joints, muscles, posture, organs, fluids, cranium and the nervous system, and is based on the philosophy of allowing the body to heal itself by inviting change rather than forcing a correction.
In this 2-day workshop, you will learn when and how to appropriately use isometric and isotonic techniques in order to stimulate self-corrective reflexes, to work with inefficient muscular patterns, to increase range of motion, to release soft tissue, and to encourage ease, comfort, and tone within your clients. In particular, the use of Reciprocal Inhibition will be taught and practiced because of its ease and effectiveness.
This is an entry level class to the Ortho-Bionomy® series, and is open only to licensed massage therapists, acupuncturists and certain other licensed healthcare professionals*. This class serves as the pre-requisite to the advanced level topics in the series if you choose to continue your studies in this modality.
