Level up your Massage Practice with Bodywork Techniques from a Chiropractor!

Shoulder problems seem more prevalent than ever. Almost all shoulder diagnoses can be helped with mobilization and muscle work — which is at the center of your scope of practice.  In this class, you’ll develop a clearer sense of what tends to go wrong in the shoulder, how the various joints of the shoulders work, and how to assess and mobilize them. In the process, you’ll clarify your clinical understanding of:

  • shoulder mechanics
  • the role of the rotator cuff
  • the flow of the shoulder blade on the ribs
  • proper shoulder mechanics of the shoulder, and
  • quick ways to assess and address shoulder problems.

George Russell is a bodyworker, chiropractor and teacher with 25 years of experience.  He has been teaching his bodywork techniques to LMTs in our Continuing Education program for over a decade, and he has been a fan favorite of our CE students and community from day 1.

Every moment of George’s class will help you in the massage room. George has a way of understanding each student’s body and mind and adapting the techniques he teaches for the student, rather than making the student adapt to the techniques. His mission is to help bodyworkers expand their work to include energy, anatomy, orthopedic function and emotional integration.  His style of teaching is clear, engaging and compassionate.  All that plus he’s got a great sense of humor!  You will never be bored in his classes!  You’ll come away with confidence, new skills, and a greater sense of connection to your colleagues and your work.

Bring a pillowcase and dress in clothes that allow you to be worked on and for the general outline of your body to be seen.

Pre-requisite: None

Class Open To: Licensed massage therapists and certain other licensed healthcare professionals
