Level up your Massage Practice with Bodywork Techniques from a Chiropractor!
Most people have never heard of the scalene muscle group or know that it can mimic heart attacks and cervical disc problems, cut blood flow to the arms, cause severe neck pain, and contribute to poor posture, especially in the elderly.
Scalene problems are intertwined with the uppermost ribs and cervical segments they attach to. With a good understanding of joint mechanics and mobilization, the LMT is definitely be the best practitioner to address these pesky little workhorses! This class will include:
- Anatomy and function of the scalenes and SCM
- Joint mobilizations
- Pain referral patterns
- Manual techniques
- Self-stretches
George Russell is a bodyworker, chiropractor and teacher with 25 years of experience. He has been teaching his bodywork techniques to LMTs in our Continuing Education program for over a decade, and he has been a fan favorite of our CE students and community from day 1.
Every moment of George’s class will help you in the massage room. George has a way of understanding each student’s body and mind and adapting the techniques he teaches for the student, rather than making the student adapt to the techniques. His mission is to help bodyworkers expand their work to include energy, anatomy, orthopedic function and emotional integration. His style of teaching is clear, engaging and compassionate. All that plus he’s got a great sense of humor! You will never be bored in his classes! You’ll come away with confidence, new skills, and a greater sense of connection to your colleagues and your work.
