Medical Massage Certification: The Strenta Method
$950.00 Add to cartMedical Massage Certification: The Strenta Method
A highly immersive and experiential hands-on training focused on practical, results-oriented medical massage techniques you can immediately integrate into your practice. Therapists will deepen their clinical skills, experience hours of focused therapeutic hands-on exchange, and earn certification in Medical Massage upon completion.Course Dates:2 consecutive weekends: Saturday September 19-20 and Saturday September 26-27 (Fall 2026)9:00 am – 5:30 pm each dayCEUs: 30 NY State, 30 NCBTMBCourse DescriptionStudents step into a learning environment that is both focused and supportive. Led by instructor Janine Strenta (MA, MS, LAc, LMT) whose warmth, humor, clarity, and clinical insight receive enthusiastic feedback from students, each class explores a different region of the body and the common pathologies that affect it. Together we look at how dysfunction develops within the body’s terrain and how skilled, intentional touch can help restore balance, mobility, and ease.Learning unfolds through a rhythm of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice. After each concept is introduced, Janine demonstrates the techniques while the lesson is supported by instructional video so students can clearly see the work as they begin to practice. Participants then work in pairs while both instructors move through the room, offering individualized feedback and hands-on guidance at every table. This close mentorship allows therapists to refine their touch, deepen their understanding, and build confidence as they learn to work both locally—addressing the site of pathology—and more broadly, reconnecting the area back into the surrounding terrain and three-dimensional movement of the body.A meaningful aspect of this training is the structured time devoted to hands-on exchange. Each day includes approximately four hours of giving and receiving bodywork, offering therapists the rare opportunity to be on the table themselves. Experiencing skilled touch firsthand refines perception, informs technique, and reminds us of the value of receiving bodywork as part of sustainable practice. The following topics will be covered over the course of 2 consecutive weekends (4 days total):Saturday September 19- Morning: The Upper Back: kyphosis, upper back pain, disc issues, whiplash
- Afternoon: The Shoulder/Pectoral Girdle: nerve entrapment, tendonitis, frozen shoulder
Sunday September 20- Morning: The Neck: whiplash, thoracic outlet syndrome, disc issues
- Afternoon: The Lower Extremity: chondromalacia patella, sprained ankle

- Afternoon: Review and Certification Exam
