Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a powerful therapeutic skill that increases the exchange of nutrients and toxic compounds on a molecular level.  This light, repetitive technique stretches the skin to increase the uptake and transport of macromolecules from the tissue, making way for better nutrient intake.  The benefits for your clients are tissue detoxification and rejuvenation, edema reduction and a better regulated immune response.  There are many applications for treatment including orthopedic injuries, inflammatory conditions, chronic and autoimmune diseases, perinatal and post-surgical.  On a more advanced level MLD is vital in the treatment and potential improvement of lymphedema.  The benefit for the therapist is increased longevity due to the light touch nature of this work.
