Upledger Institute

For over 35 years, Upledger Institute International (UII) has been training manual therapists in the work developed by renowned healthcare innovator, Dr. John E. Upledger.

CST was pioneered and developed by John E. Upledger after extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University. Dr. Upledger coined the term “CranioSacral Therapy” while developing this manual therapy. TIME Magazine named him one of America’s “Next Wave of Innovators” for his clinical applications of CranioSacral Therapy. His development of CST earned him an international reputation and established him as a leader in integrative, whole-person, manual therapy education, clinical services, and on-going research.

The instructor of this 4-day course being held at Swedish Institute is Liz Brinson, CMT, CST-D.

Liz is an advanced practitioner of CranioSacral Therapy, diplomate-certified with the Upledger Institute. She has had the distinct pleasure of being a long-time teaching assistant with the Upledger Institute, of externing in the Upledger Clinic’s Intensive Program, and of being a certified presenter and teacher for CranioSacral Therapy 1.

Before embarking on her journey into learning CranioSacral Therapy, Liz primarily used myofascial therapy and facilitated stretching, and she is certified in pregnancy/postpartum massage.

In her CranioSacral private practice, Liz encourages her clients’ awareness of and connection with their innate healing abilities. She is committed to facilitating her clients’ ever-deepening understanding of their bodies, their lives, and the relationships therein. Liz employs a practical, comfortable approach, some humor and a good dose of compassion in her work. Please visit lizbrinson.com for more information.
