Dr. Ben E. Benjamin, PhD and LMT

Dr. Ben Benjamin is a recognized authority on orthopedic assessment and treatment techniques using skilled massage therapy. After earning his Ph.D. in Sports Medicine and studying with Dr. James Cyriax, the “father of orthopedic medicine,” he applied his insights to the healing of common soft tissue injuries through skilled massage therapy, and ultimately developed the profession of muscular therapy. His innovative and therapeutic techniques help reduce and eliminate pain produced by adhesive scar tissue formed from soft tissue injury.

Dr. Benjamin has been nationally recognized for his contributions to the field of massage therapy, receiving the AMTA President’s Award in 2000 and an induction into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame in 2010.

As an educator, author, practitioner and consultant, he has conducted seminars and workshops across the country, served as an instructor and trainer in a variety of settings, and written several books and countless articles. He is the author of “Listen to Your Pain,” in print for 34 years, which provides a systematic method for the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of pain and injury problems. He is also the author of “Exercise Without Injury” and “Are You Tense?”, and the co-author of The Ethics of Touch, and has also been a contributing author and publisher to several other books as well as a regular featured author in industry publications.

Dr. Benjamin has dedicated his life to helping people cope with and overcome the pain and stress caused by injury to the body. He has been in private practice for 53 years, and continues with his mission to offer his innovative therapy techniques to help enhance the quality of life for as many people as possible – to help people not simply manage their pain, but to be freed from it.
